2026: A Year of Big Shifts and New Directions

In 2026 the 3-year transition period will end and finally all 3 slow-moving planets will settle in their new signs. Pluto resides in Aquarius since end of 2024, Neptune will move to Aries for 13 years and Uranus will also finally settle into Gemini and stays there till 2033.

2026 represents a cosmic re-start, as the 164-year cycle of Neptune and 29-year cycle of Saturn will meet right on the very first degree of the zodiac circle. These planets meet every 35-37 years in different places in the zodiac, but meeting on 0° Aries, where everything starts, that is crazy. This a hugely rare event, that believed to happen last around 9000 years ago.

February – Neptune conjunct Saturn at 0° Aries

Firstly, on January 26, Neptune will move to Aries for the next 13 years, then on February 14, Saturn will follow and they will form an exact conjunction at 0° Aries on February 20.

This is a profound turning point where inner vision and responsibility need to work together. We will see dreams crash, mass disillusionment in the collective ideals, and authorities. Old systems and structures will  crumble and we will be confronted with the pressure to define our own way forward. The old ways won’t work anymore so either from an inner urge or due to an external pressure we will be asked to set our own direction. Instead of relying on external sources of opinion, we need to act from inner authority and inner knowing. This transit emphasizes acting on intuition, daring to follow inner inspiration, and allowing identity to emerge through lived choices rather than imagined possibilities. Our ideals and dreams might take on a more solid shape. Old belief systems and external authorities lose their hold, making space for a more grounded, self-directed sense of purpose. Collectively, this moment challenges us to give form to what we believe by taking ownership of our actions – transforming inspiration into something real through commitment and personal leadership.

As we shape our inner beliefs and our inner world and inspiration, the outside world will change direction. This energy will be with us during the whole astrological year (till March 20 2027), so we will see the events unfold.

Questions for inner inquiry fitting this transit:

  • Where in my life have I been following roles, rules, or expectations that no longer feel true to who I am becoming?
  • What part of me is asking to step forward without waiting for approval, permission, or reassurance?
  • When do I feel most clear, energized, and quietly confident in my own direction?
  • What desire or vision keeps returning, even when I try to ignore it?
  • What would it look like to take full responsibility for my path, even if it means being misunderstood?

April – Uranus (re)enters Gemini

After a short introduction period between July and November last year, on April 26, Uranus will move and settle into Gemini for the next 7 years. As described in my related article, this will bring a lot of mental (over)stimulation, new technologies to communicate and connect. We might see a general decentralization in how we learn, exchange/consume information and how we move around.

When Uranus moves into Gemini, the pace of life—especially mentally—accelerates noticeably. Uranus symbolizes sudden change, innovation, and disruption, while Gemini governs the mind, communication, learning, and information exchange. Together, they create an atmosphere of rapid ideas, constant updates, and an increased need to stay mentally agile.

Personally, Uranus in Gemini can feel like your mind is always “on.” New interests appear overnight, old ways of thinking become intolerable, and there is a strong urge to question assumptions you once took for granted. Conversations may become more stimulating—but also more fragmented—as perspectives multiply. This transit can bring breakthroughs in how you express yourself, learn, teach, or share information, especially if you allow flexibility instead of clinging to fixed opinions.

The challenge of this period is mental overload: too much input, too many choices, and a nervous system that struggles to keep up. Yet this same energy offers remarkable opportunities for mental liberation. You may discover new ways of learning, communicating, or networking that feel more aligned with who you are becoming. Innovation thrives when you follow what genuinely excites your curiosity rather than reacting to every distraction.

Questions for inner inquiry fitting this transit:

  • How can I create space for integration, not just stimulation?
  • How is my relationship with information changing—and what do I need to filter out?
  • Where am I being invited to think differently, experiment, or question outdated narratives?
  • How do I stay mentally flexible without losing focus or grounding?

June: Jupiter enters Leo

On June 30, Jupiter moves from Cancer into Leo and that brings a clear change in emotional tone and motivation. Cancer energy is inward, protective, and sensitive; it focuses on safety, belonging, emotional bonds, and tending to what is private or vulnerable. During this transit we can grow through care, emotional awareness and by nourishing our family and strengthening our roots.

Leo, by contrast, turns the energy outward. It is about visibility, vitality, and creative self-expression. When Jupiter enters Leo, growth is no longer centered on emotional security but on confidence, passion, and the courage to be seen.

On a personal level, the move from Cancer to Leo can feel like emerging from an inner cocoon. After a period of emotional processing, boundary-setting, or focusing on home and close relationships, there is a renewed desire to engage with the world more boldly. Feelings are still important, but they are no longer meant to be held privately—they want to be expressed, shared, and lived out creatively.

This can bring a lift in confidence, motivation, and enthusiasm. People may feel readier to take risks, claim space, or follow what brings joy rather than what simply feels safe. Jupiter moving into Leo invites us to trust that what has been nurtured internally is now strong enough to be shared. It marks a moment where emotional wisdom becomes fuel for confidence, leadership, and wholehearted engagement with life.

Questions for inner inquiry fitting this transit:

  • How can I lead or create from the heart rather than from the need to be seen?
  • Where do I feel naturally confident and alive?
  • What wants to be expressed without justification or performance?

July: Uranus-Pluto-Neptune minor grand trine

On July 18, we’ll see the first of 5 exact trines between Uranus and Pluto which is a rare and auspicious alignment (other dates are: Nov 29, 2026; June 15, 2027;  January 13 and May 9, 2028).  Uranus and Pluto are both agents of deep change—Uranus disrupts and liberates, while Pluto dismantles and rebuilds at the root level. The trine between them offers an increased momentum of radical changes, independently from the quality of the change. Neptune in early Aries will form a sextile with both planets, forming a triangle – called minor grand trine in astrology – that will be the closest in July 2026, June 2027 and May 2028. With Neptune in sextile with both Uranus and Pluto, the picture becomes even more ambiguous. Neptune can bring imagination, revised ideals, and spiritual or visionary frameworks that help people make sense of change. At the same time, it can blur reality, weaken discernment, and encourage avoidance, projection, or escapism.

While external events may unfold beyond individual control, we can still choose how consciously we engage with disruption, power, and meaning. Internally, this is an opportunity to:

  • Use periods of uncertainty to clarify values, boundaries, and long-term direction
  • Build internal authority and discernment rather than outsourcing meaning to systems, leaders, or collective narratives
  • Examine where you resist change out of fear versus where change is genuinely destabilizing

Eclipses in 2026 – February/March and August

As every year we will have two pairs of eclipses in 2026. With the nodal axis moving to the Leo/Aquarius axis, we will see the first eclipses in these signs. The nodes describe a longer-term learning curve: where we are releasing old habits (South Node) and where growth is asking to happen (North Node).

This shift further emphasizes the Leo and Aquarius energies that are being activated already by Jupiter and Aquarius. We can expect an increasing tension between control of leaders or authorities and people’s individual will, between old hierarchical structures and value-based communities, between personal truth and collective narratives.

During the next 2 years we will be asked to balance autonomy with connectedness and authenticity with responsibility.

Below are the dates of the eclipses:

  • February 17th – New Moon Solar Eclipse at 28° Aquarius
  • March 3rd – Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse (total) at 12° Virgo
  • August 12th – New Moon Solar Eclipse (total) at 20° Leo
  • August 28th – Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (partial) at 4° Pisces

October – November: Venus Retrograde in Scorpio and Libra

On October 3, Venus will turn retrograde at 8° Scorpio and will move back all the way to 22° Libra, before is stations direct again on November 13.

When Venus turns retrograde in Libra and Scorpio, themes around relationships, values, and desire move inward for review. Libra highlights balance, fairness, and patterns of compromise, while Scorpio brings depth, attachment, power dynamics, and emotional honesty. This period can surface old relational dynamics, unresolved feelings, or questions about what we truly value beneath social harmony.

Venus retrograde often feels like a pause in the emotional and relational flow. People may revisit past relationships, question current dynamics, or feel less satisfied with what once felt comfortable or desirable. Affection, finances, and self-worth themes can feel unsettled—not to break things, but to reassess what truly feels aligned. It’s a time when clarity comes through reflection rather than action.

The 3 annual Mercury Retrograde periods:

  • February 26 – March 20 (22°-8° Pisces)
  • June 29 – July 24 (26°-16° Cancer)
  • October 24 – November 13 ( 20°-5° Scorpio)

Mercury retrograde is commonly experienced as mental and logistical friction. Miscommunications, delays, technical glitches, or changes of plan tend to surface, forcing a slowdown. On a personal level, it often brings rethinking decisions, reviewing conversations, or returning to unfinished ideas. While frustrating, it’s less about mistakes and more about noticing what was rushed, overlooked, or assumed.

As all the retrogrades will happen in Water signs, it adds a distinctly emotional, subjective and memory-based tone to the usual Mercury retrograde experience. Conversations may be influenced by mood, past emotional experiences, or intuition rather than clear logic. People may realize they felt something was off long before they could articulate it.

2026 feels like a reset because the focus shifts from letting go to deciding what comes next. Long-term planetary movements emphasize initiative, clarity, and personal responsibility after years of uncertainty and transition. Rather than offering clear answers, this year invites conscious direction—asking each of us to choose how we act, what we align with, and what we are willing to build going forward.

A year we won’t forget – the astrology of 2025

I believe astrology is not only a powerful tool for cultivating self-reflection and self-awareness, but it also offers profound insights into the archetypal qualities of a certain time period.

In this post, I will outline the key astrological events of 2025 and their broader significance, offering a bird’s-eye view of the trends and energies shaping the year ahead, along with key highlights to watch for.

2023-2026 is a cosmic transition period during which all the slow-moving or outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) change signs.

2025 will be the peak of this transformation process as it will be the first time when all outer planets will occupy their new sign. Pluto settled into Aquarius on November 19, 2024, and will stay there for 20 years. Then in 2025, Neptune and Uranus will ingress into their new signs (on March 30 and July 7 respectively). Adding to this profound shift, the lunar nodes change signs on January 12 and Saturn follows suit on May 25. These transitions signify an atmosphere of profound change, marking the beginning of a new chapter both globally and personally.

2025 in stages

The year 2025 unfolds in different stages, each highlighting different astrological energies:

January-March: Preparation and Introspection: The first quarter of the year is a time for reflection and preparation. With the Mars, Venus and Mercury retrograde periods the cosmic energy encourages us to pause before taking action. This period is ideal for recalibrating our goals and avoiding significant decisions or new ventures.

March-July: Acceleration and Emergence: Starting in late March, the pace of change quickens as Neptune moves into Aries and Uranus transitions to Gemini in July. This period is marked by the emergence of new trends, innovative ideas, and transformative events. It’s a dynamic and somewhat chaotic time, pushing us to adapt quickly and embrace fresh perspectives.

August-October: Harmonious Support: In late summer and early autumn, a rare harmonious energy prevails, supporting personal and collective transformation. This is a time when sudden insights or pioneering ideas might surface. It’s also a window for turning realistic dreams into achievable goals, thanks to the advantageous aspects between the outer planets.

November-December: Emotional Growth and Healing: The year concludes with a focus on emotional healing and personal growth. The closing months provide opportunities to process the year’s changes, fostering a deeper sense of inner peace and resilience.

The main astrological events of 2025

Jan till Feb 24 – Mars retrograde

Mars turns retrograde once every two years and lasting approximately 10-11 weeks. As we begin 2025, Mars has been retrograde since December 6, 2024, at 6° Leo. It moves back to 17° Cancer  before turning direct again on February 23. During Mars retrograde, the planet is closest to Earth, appearing especially bright around January 15. This extended stay in Leo and Cancer signifies a period of internalized action and reflection. Mars retrograde slows forward momentum, creating a time for patience and reassessment. Actions and decisions made in the preceding months (September 4 to December 6, 2024) may require revision. It’s best to avoid starting new ventures if possible.

In personal relationships, this period can bring challenges in self-expression. Passive-aggressiveness, overreactions, and defensiveness may surface. Finding a balance between personal needs and those of others is essential. As this retrograde occurs at the start of the year (and begins in late 2024), it provides a natural pause to reflect and realign your goals with your authentic self and emotional needs.

Jan 3 and April 27 – Mars opposite Pluto

Mars forms three oppositions to Pluto during its retrograde journey. The first occurred on November 3, 2024, at 29° Capricorn-Cancer. The subsequent oppositions will take place on January 3 and April 27, 2025, at 1° and 3° Leo-Aquarius, respectively.

This aspect is associated with intense energy, power struggles, and potential conflicts. Globally, geopolitical tensions may escalate or new conflicts could arise. On a personal level, suppressed anger may resurface in destructive ways, leading to resistance and obstacles in pursuing your personal will. Self-control and aligning personal desires with a greater purpose are crucial to navigating this energy constructively. This period offers an opportunity for profound growth and transformation, depending on how we channel the intensity.

Individuals born between July 21-27, December 19-24, or with personal planets at 29° Capricorn-3° Aquarius (or 29° Cancer-3° Leo) may feel these effects more acutely.

March 2 – April 12 – Venus retrograde

Shortly after Mars retrograde ends, Venus begins its retrograde phase. This occurs every 18 months and lasts about six weeks. Venus stations retrograde on March 2 at 10° Aries and concludes its retrograde on April 12 at 24° Pisces.

Venus retrograde acts as a cosmic pause button on themes like relationships, love, values, beauty, and finances. It’s a time to avoid major decisions in these areas, including entering new relationships or making significant purchases. During this phase, past relationships or unresolved matters, particularly from about eight years ago, may resurface for reassessment.

This retrograde unfolds in two phases:

  • March 2 – March 27 (Aries): This phase emphasizes independence, courage, and assertiveness in love and finances. It’s a time to reevaluate how you take action in these areas.
  • March 27 – April 12 (Pisces): The energy shifts to compassion, emotional depth, and releasing unrealistic expectations. This period invites introspection and a more spiritual approach to relationships and values.

Together, the Mars and Venus retrogrades offer an extended period of reflection, urging us to reassess our goals, relationships, and priorities with patience and self-awareness.

March 30 – Neptune enters Aries

Neptune’s ingress into Aries heralds the start of a 14-year cycle where collective dreams and ideals (Neptune) are infused with the bold, action-oriented, and pioneering energy of Aries. This powerful shift brings both opportunities and challenges on a global scale:

  • Disillusionment with False Leaders: The unmasking of leaders and ideals that fail to meet expectations becomes a prominent theme.
  • Increased Spiritual Activism: A rise in movements that merge spirituality with action, inspiring collective efforts toward meaningful change.
  • Focus on Climate Protection and Sustainability: Bold, actionable ideas take center stage, driving significant advances in addressing environmental challenges.
  • Advances in Cybersecurity and Cyber Warfare: Technological innovation intensifies in the realm of digital protection and conflict.
  • Intensified Migration Trends: Climate change, war, and socio-economic disparities drive mass migration. Host countries face the challenge of balancing compassion and integration with cultural preservation.
  • Idealization of War and Heroism: A romanticized view of conflict, aggression, and heroism may emerge, influencing cultural narratives and societal values.
  • Weaponization of Polarization: Ideological divides deepen as beliefs become a focal point for conflict, leading to heightened tensions and ideological clashes.

This period invites us to harness the fiery energy of Aries to pursue collective ideals with courage and innovation while navigating the challenges of polarization and ideological extremism.

May 25 – Saturn enters Aries

On May 25, Saturn will follow Neptune into Aries, marking a significant astrological moment. Both planets will share the early degrees of Aries for several months, coming closest (within 1° orb) during the summer. Although their exact conjunction won’t occur until 2026, the proximity between these two planets will be palpable. The line between fiction and reality may blur, making it increasingly challenging to discern what is real.

Constructively channeling this energy can lead to greater courage and the willingness to take bold steps toward your dreams. Success, however, will require hard work and discipline. This is a time of profound self-discovery, encouraging you to shed outdated self-concepts and embrace a more authentic version of yourself.

Those with personal planets (or Saturn) between 25° Pisces and 2° Aries will feel this transit most intensely.

June 9 – Jupiter enters Cancer

Jupiter transitions into Cancer, its sign of exaltation, bringing a sense of abundance and prosperity, particularly in areas related to home, family, and emotional security. This transit emphasizes nurturing—both self and others—and highlights the importance of creating safe, supportive environments.

Jupiter will form a tense square with Saturn and Neptune in June, making growth and tangible results harder to achieve. However, as the year progresses, Jupiter forms a harmonious trine with these planets in November and December, paving the way for smoother progress and greater ease in achieving goals during the second half of 2025.

July 7 – Uranus enters Gemini

On July 7, Uranus begins its seven-year journey through Gemini, ushering in a period of revolutionary breakthroughs in communication technologies. Upon entering Gemini, Uranus forms a (not yet exact) trine with Pluto in Aquarius, enhancing the potential for groundbreaking innovations. Rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, new media forms, and revolutionary technologies are likely.

Education systems may undergo transformation, with efforts to decentralize or adapt to the growing need for intellectual freedom, flexibility, and innovation. This transit invites us to rethink traditional learning methods and embrace a more adaptive and forward-thinking approach to knowledge-sharing.

March and September – Eclipses

In 2025, we will experience four eclipses, as is typical each year. The March eclipses will conclude the Aries/Libra eclipse cycle that began in April 2023. This signifies a shift away from themes of independence versus partnership (“me vs. you”). With the lunar nodes moving to the Virgo/Pisces axis, the cosmic focus will transition toward a more service-oriented and compassion-driven mindset, a theme that will influence us until early 2027.

Eclipses signify major endings and beginnings, acting as catalysts for change and prompting us to release the past. If you have personal planets or chart points within 3° of the eclipse degrees, you may feel their effects more profoundly.

2025 Eclipses

  • March 14: Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse at 23° Virgo
  • March 29: New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse at 9° Aries
  • September 7: Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse at 15° Pisces
  • September 21: New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse at 29° Virgo

The 3 annual Mercury Retrograde periods

  • March 15 – April 7: Retrograde from 9° Aries to 26° Pisces
  • July 18 – August 11: Retrograde from 15° Leo to 4° Leo
  • November 9 – November 29: Retrograde from 6° Sagittarius to 20° Scorpio

During Mercury retrograde, challenges in communication, travel, and technology are common. However, these periods offer excellent opportunities to slow down, reassess, and correct your course. Paying close attention to details can help reduce misunderstandings or miscommunications. These retrogrades encourage introspection and fine-tuning your plans for better outcomes.

In 2025, we will witness a significant shift from the “old” (the final degrees of a sign) to the “new” (the early degrees of a sign). Those with personal planets or angles at the very beginning or very end of a sign are likely to feel this shift most acutely, experiencing a strong urge—or an external push—to embrace brand-new experiences.

The encouraging news is that the second half of the year will be marked by abundant supportive and harmonious planetary energies, providing a boost to help us navigate and make the most of this transformative time.

There is no need to fear these upcoming changes. They present valuable opportunities to realign our lives where needed. We are not passive bystanders to these cosmic events but active participants with the power—and the responsibility—to shape our path forward.

If you’re curious about what these shifts mean for you personally, consider booking a consultation with me. Together, we can explore how to align with the cosmic currents and make 2025 a year of growth and empowerment!.

Wishing you a wonderful 2025!

The astrology of 2024 – accelerating transformation

As 2024 is just around the corner, it is time to review the astrology of the year ahead. I don’t really believe in the by sign forecast („If you are a Libra, this is what will happen…”) as our perception on external events can be significantly different even if we share the same Sun/Moon/Ascendant sign. It is highly individual  – described by our natal chart – how we see and respond to the world around us. Hence, I’m making an attempt to translate the main astrological events on a global, more general level.

The bigger picture

As I mentioned in my 2023 post, we entered into a cosmic transition period (2023-2026) during which all the slow-moving planets change signs. 2023 was a rather gentle start with Pluto dipping it’s toes into Aquarius for 2.5 months between March and June. In 2024 this will intensify as Pluto will say goodbye to Capricorn between September 1st and November 19th and settle down in Aquarius for the next 20 years. This is a huge generational event that will bring dramatic changes in our society (more on this here). 2025 will be the peak of this cosmic shift, when both Uranus and Neptune will change signs temporarily and by 2026 all of them will complete their ingress to their new signs, starting a new chapter.

2024 is a special year for several reasons. This is the last year when Uranus is fully in Taurus where it has been since 2018. In Astrology, Uranus symbolizes freedom, technology, rebellion, innovation and total transformation. It is also the planet that forces us – via external events – out of our comfort zone and encourages us towards change for the better. Taurus, the fixed Earth sign is connected with all things grounded, material, solid and it is the zodiac sign most resistant to change. So Uranus in general does not feel great in Taurus. During its 8-year stay in Taurus Uranus could and did rock our foundations in the Taurean areas of our life: our finances, our possessions and even our value-system.

2024 is also the last year when Neptune is fully in Pisces where it has been since 2011. The ruling planet of Pisces is Neptune which means that they have a shared symbolism of dreams, ideals, boundlessness, humanism, but also fear, disillusionment and escapism. The topics Neptune and Pisces symbolize in the mundane world are religion, spirituality, music, art, natural waters (lakes, oceans etc), alcohol, drugs and lack of boundaries. The transit of Neptune in Pisces has led to a boom in spirituality, mystical thinking, astrology, magical practices and psychedelics, as well as mental health problems and addiction. We are also witnessing the virtual reality business and VR-gadgets gaining ground. Personally, we have been experiencing a new challenge in our everyday life: learning to differentiate between what is real and what is „fake” or an illusion.

Since March 2023, Saturn is also in Pisces, and during the whole year of 2024, Saturn will co-exist with Neptune in Pisces. Saturn is all about limits and restriction and it has to meet Neptune’s boundlessness. This means that Saturn can bring some sense of reality and grounding to these Neptunean areas and we have an opportunity to anchor some of our dreams into reality. A watch-out is that Saturn tends to work by applying pressure and forcing us to reckon with reality, so this process sometimes might be rather uncomfortable at the start.

Let’s see what are the main astrological events of the year. You will find a mix of comments in mundane astrology (focusing on the world, on global events) and personal astrology (focusing to our inner experience as human beings).

January 21st – Pluto enters Aquarius

Pluto enters Aquarius for the second time which still won’t be the last time. The transit of the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) from one sign to another is usually a 2-year long dance on the cusp of the sign. Pluto is in the middle of this dance. What a 20-year long transit of Pluto in Aquarius can mean, you can read here. We can expect that the topics that start to blossom during March and June 2023 (e.g. Artificial Intelligence and its risks) will have a second bloom between January and September 2024. This transit can have a more personal impact for those who have important planets in the first two degree of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius).

March 25th – April 8th – First Eclipse Season

On March 25th we are entering the first of two eclipse seasons with a penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 5°  Libra opposing the Sun at 5° Aries. Lunar eclipses are about relationships and polarities. Having it on the Libra-Aries axis, it highlights the awareness about what is needed to maintain a relationship (compromising, negotiating, balancing) and our inner drive to compete, assert and dominate. The theme of this Lunar Eclipse is to find balance between meeting our personal needs and attending to the needs of our significant other.

The Lunar eclipse is followed by a Total Solar Eclipse at 19° Aries on the 8th of April. Solar Eclipses symbolize new beginnings. The ruler of this Aries eclipse is Mars that is approaching the exact conjunction with Saturn. This means that we might need to come to terms with a new set of reality in our Aries-ruled area of our life and start a new journey from this new baseline. From a more mundane point of view, we might see some sudden vacuums in leadership or some kind of crisis related to leading authority figures. This eclipse is exactly conjunct with asteroid Chiron, the archetype of the „wounded healer”. This might bring the topic of wounds and healing into the forefront, probably in relation with wounds caused by wars and weapons. This stunning Total Solar Eclipse can be witnessed from Mexico and the Eastern half of the US.

April 10th – Mars conjunct Saturn in Pisces

Just about a day after the Solar Eclipse, Mars will form an exact conjunction with Saturn at 14° Pisces. This transit happens around every 2 years and on a mundane level it can be seen as a start of a new 2-year cycle of challenge. As a reference, the last two Mars-Saturn conjunctions marked the start of the chapter of very particular set of challenges: the one in April 2022 (at 22° Aquarius) marked the start of financial challenges (e.g. inflation) caused by the Russia-Ukraine war and the one in March 2020 (at 0° Aquarius) marked the start of the pandemic with its own unique consequences. So what can it be this time? Difficult to tell, but here are some of my ideas: water related issues (floods, water contamination etc.), crisis of faith, migration, border disputes and even the topic of pandemics (and regulation around their management) might come back.

April 21st – Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Taurus

The most anticipated event for most astrologers is clearly the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction which only happens around every 14 years. Jupiter symbolizes opportunity and expansion while Uranus is associated with technology, rebellion and innovation. On a mundane level it can signify events of significant technological or scientific breakthroughs, or a major social or political progress. It does not mean of course that this will happen on this specific day, but 2-3 weeks before and after we might see some related headlines. Sometimes the event itself might not seem significant at the time of happening, only retrospectively we can understand and appreciate its significance. A great example for this is the last Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus in 1941. During this transit, in the middle of the WWII, the Brits captured a German submarine, which turned out to be the one carrying the Engima machine. This catch enabled  the Allies to be able to decode the German messages which was a major breakthrough and turning point in WWII.

In our personal lives we might experience rapid, sudden, surprising expansion in understanding. Unexpected epiphanies  or „eureka”-moments might hit us, providing new and profound knowledge and clarity on certain topics. Those with important birth chart factors at 20-24° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius might feel this transit the most personally.

May 26th – Jupiter enters Gemini

About a month after the conjunction with Uranus in Taurus, Jupiter enters Gemini and stays there for a about a year. Gemini is an air sign associated with thinking, communication and intellect. During this 1 year transit we probably become more mentally adventurous, ready and eager to learn and generally we can become more curious, open-minded and objective than usual. We might become more interested in the „big picture” than in the petty details .

It takes 12 years for Jupiter to complete its journey around the zodiac, so the last time Jupiter was in Gemini was between June 2012 and June 2013. It could be useful to take note of the main themes of our life at that time as they might come around again. Your personal experiences related to this transit will be depending on your birth chart and which area is ruled by Gemini.

General watch-out for intellectual overstimulation, overpromising and even deceit during this period.

August 19th & December 24th – Jupiter square Saturn

After Jupiter enters into Gemini, it will form an exact waxing square to Saturn in Pisces 3 times: August 19th, December 24th 2024, and the last time in June 2025. These two planets signify very different energies: Jupiter is about expansion, joy, hope and optimism, while Saturn is about limitations, obligations and the need for realism and order. With this challenging aspect between these two planets, we are forced to strike a balance between our inner drive for growth and the demands of reality and discipline. During this period we need to work much harder than usual for much smaller results, which can cause a lot of frustration. We might feel an increased need to find balance between optimism and reality, independence and responsibility, risk-taking and caution. These topics will pop up in the area of life where these two planets can be found in your birth chart.

On a mundane level, this waxing square is an important phase in the Jupiter-Saturn synodic cycle, that started with their conjunction at 0° Aquarius in December 2020. Topics and discussions which were starting at that time (e.g. COVID-vaccination and regulations around them) might return as headlines during this period.

September 2nd – November 19th – Pluto in Capricorn

On the 2nd of September Pluto will retrograde back into Capricorn for one last 2.5 months stint before it moves into Aquarius for 20 years on the 19th November. This will be the season finale of Pluto in Capricorn and all the things we’ve seen since its ingress in 2008: market crash in ’08, Bitcoin, Brexit, Trump-ism and the me-too movement for example. We might see a spectacular exposure of corruption, or power-abuse in the traditional institutional systems (government, banking system and other authorities).

Interestingly, the US election will happen during this period, so we might see some shake-ups and destabilizing, dramatic escalation of events in the fall.

Personally, we might experience the last time occurrence of a certain theme which posed a challenge on us since 2008. This can be anything, career, money, relationships, family etc., depending on which part of our chart is ruled by Capricorn.

September 18th – October 2nd – Second Eclipse Season

The second eclipse season will bring enhancement into the volatile energies of Pluto’s season finale in Capricorn.

On September 18th we will see a partial Lunar Eclipse at 25° Pisces opposing the Sun at 25° Virgo. This is a significant eclipse as this is the first one on the Virgo – Pisces axis since 2017 and is the first of an upcoming eclipse set occurring along the Virgo-Pisces axis. As this eclipse will conjunct Neptune in Pisces and square Jupiter in Gemini, the most likely theme of this eclipse will be separating truth from illusion.

On the 2nd October we will witness a Solar Eclipse at 10° Libra, the final eclipse in this sign till 2033. We might feel that we need to stop trying to agree with everyone and to release our people-pleasing tendencies. As this eclipse conjuncts with Mercury, we might feel the need to also communicate what we think in a rather spicy way. This Solar Eclipse will be visible only on the most Southern part of South America.

November 19th – Pluto enters Aquarius for 20 years

On November 19th, Pluto will conclude its stay in Capricorn and ingress into Aquarius, starting his circa 20-year stay there. We might clearly feel that a certain period of our life ended and a new started. You can read more on this transit here.

December 7th – Mars stations Retrograde in Leo

On the 7th of December 2024, Mars, the planet of action, assertiveness and conflict, turns retrograde (as it appears from Earth) at 6° Leo and retrogrades back to Cancer on January 6th 2025. In these last weeks of 2024 we might see some fiery conflict in between world leaders. Internally we might need to re-assess our motivations and strategy. We might temporarily lose our courage and drive, but might feel ready for action again around February 2024. Those, who have important planets in the first 10 degrees of fixed signs, might feel this transit more personally.

Overall, 2024 has all the ingredients to become a landmark year both on a personal and on a global level. In my opinion it will be much more eventful than 2023 was, especially April and November. For sure it will bring a new set of challenges and opportunities personally and globally, but luckily we have astrology that can help us to successfully navigate through these intense times.

No need to fear these upcoming changes as they are opportunities to adjust the course of our life if we need to. We are not helpless bystanders of these cosmic events, but we have the opportunity – and probably the responsibility – to take matters into our own hands.
