On the 18th of February the Sun shifts from independent, rational Aquarius into spiritual and sensitive Pisces for 30 days. We are moving to the final month of Winter, enjoying rising temperatures and increasing amounts of sunlight.
Pisces, as the last sign of the zodiac, represents the freedom from material limitations and the invisible connection to the universal One-ness. It is a mutable water sign or even a better description it is a watercolor sign. It is so fluid and changeable, that it gets easily “contaminated” by other signs, just like the colors bleeding into each other in a watercolor painting. It is very difficult to isolate a pure Piscean quality in the chart, or even sense it as a dominating energy. This elusive quality of the sign is also symbolized by its ruling planet Neptune, the planet of imagination and transcendence.
The life purpose of Pisces is to offer empathy, compassion to others and service to a higher cause. They have the highest capacity to understand, accept, embrace, and help absolutely anyone as they see no boundaries between people. Pisces have no assumption of superiority over the poor, uneducated, mentally ill or criminals.
Those with significant Piscean energy are often sensitive, receptive, imaginative, and artistic. We often can find Solar Pisceans in branches of art like drawing, painting, photography, music, literature, and film. Their weak sense of self (weakest in the zodiac) makes them great actors/actresses as they can easily put themselves into any character’s skin and play an authentic role.
Pisces are dreaming of being able to save the world, even if it comes with the sacrifice of their personal desires. To be able to offer this compassion and devotion to others, they often develop a strong need for retreat and sometimes to escape to recharge their batteries.
If Pisces cannot find their spiritual path in life, they can become sour, critical, destructive and can fall into the state of self-pity and martyrdom. If they trust the wrong people or their helpfulness is abused, they tend to identify with the victim and they might step onto destructive ways of escapism like alcohol or drug use/abuse.
In relationships, Pisces tend to be very giving, romantic, idealistic and they are very tuned into their partner’s mood. They can be so immersed into the relationship that they don’t see no clear designation between where their feelings end and their partner’s begin. This lack of emotional boundaries might result in unhealthy codependent relationships and unrealistic expectations.
Pisces season is a time for introspection, self-discovery and for spiritual practices such as meditation and yoga. We might feel strong creative inspiration or experience unusually vivid dreams. Feelings of uncertainty and confusion in relationships, difficulty to make decisions might be further characteristics of this period.
On 7th of March also Saturn, the planet of boundaries and maturity will enter Pisces and stay there till 2026. If you have planets or your Ascendant in Pisces, it will be a very significant period in your life.
